Check Out Arcadia!
Need some fun and excitement to fill up your summer weekends? Here’s something new you’ve got to check out.
Arcadia Riverview Recreation (AIR) is now open for business. Their main feature is a 13 mile scenic trail between Arcadia and Loup City Nebraska located on the bank of the middle Loup River. The trail has been created especially for ATVs. No dirtbikes will be allowed at this time.
Besides being a great place to ride your ATV, fishing, picnicking, wading in the river and camping may also be enjoyed. Go expecting to see all the natural attractions Nebraska has to offer. Observe wildlife in their natural habitant, find and impressive array or wild flowers, and be delighted at the many species of birds.
The founders of the AIR trail designed it to be a relaxing experience especially for families, rather than a wild race course for dare devils. As such, the trail would be a great place for grandpa to take the grand kids, or a husband and wife to enjoy a rate date in the great outdoors. However, if a rider feels the need to prove their ATV handling expertise, they can try out the approximately mile long track located at the entrance of the trail.
Future plans for the trail include: a building with indoor bathroom, showers and a lounging room complete with vending machines. Also planned are rooms for rent for those riders who plan to enjoy a whole weekend on the trail. Camper hookups will be installed if the need becomes apparent.
The Arcadia Riverview Recreation trail is open from Memorial weekend through Labor day weekend on all Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The cost for all this fun is $20 per day or $10 per half day for each ATV. Also ask about family rates for an entire summer of unlimited riding.
Finally, Arcadia Riverview Recreation plans to begin a release and shoot pheasant hunting program. This activity will run from Sept 1st through April st. For a fee, hunters may also participate in duck hunting, black powder and archery deer hunting during their respective seasons. This is a wonderful opportunity for serious deer hunters to strut their stuff as many trophy bucks have been gleaned from this area.
Please call ahead to reserve a time to enjoy any or all of the many exciting opportunities AIR has to offer. Contact Conn Pierson at 308-789-6458 (home) or cell 308-233-0355; Floyd Fowler at 308-745-0188 (home) or cell 308-750-6878; Matt at 308-745-0155.
