ATV and Dirtbike Riders To Meet
A meeting will be held on Friday, February 3rd, 2006 at 6 PM at Grampas Crossing in Deshler Nebraska to promote developing a potential ATV and dirtbike park in south central Nebraska.
This meeting will be held to organize recreational ATV and dirtbike enthusiasts in Thayer County and surrounding counties. The organization will then work with local government officials to find and develop a suitable site from a willing land owner. At this time a suitable site has not been located, and this potential project is at the very beginning stage.
Local ATV and dirtbike riders, interested government officials and representatives of the Nebraska Off Highway Vehicle Association recently held a meeting in Deshler to discuss the development of an ATV and dirtbike park. The reason for the park involves the desire to provide an additional activity for local residents and promote tourism and economic development.
ATV and dirtbike riders who are interested in becoming involved in this project should attend this meeting in Deshler beginning at 6 PM. Grampas Crossing in downtown Deshler has been generous to offer riders a place to meet. The meeting will be open to the public.
Several existing ATV and dirtbike areas in Nebraska contribute to the economies of their nearby communities. Recreational ATV and dirtbike riding is becoming an increasingly popular activity among people of all age groups. With an estimated 40,000 plus ATVs and dirtbikes in Nebraska, providing places for people to ride has a considerable amount of potential.
The meeting in Deshler on February 3rd will be held to organize riders so that they can help this proposed project become a reality. Plans call for organizing a club or association among ATV and dirtbike riders at this meeting. Riders will decide if they want to organize an independent organization or become involved as a chapter of the existing Nebraska Off Highway Vehicle Association. Dan Nitzel, the Business Manager and co-founder of the Nebraska Off Highway Vehicle Association will be at the meeting to explain the options to riders.
Officers for the organization will be elected at this meeting, and suggestions for a name of the organization will be discussed.
