New Dirt Bike School in Nebraska

During a recent conversation between Dan Nitzel the Business Manager for NOHVA and Robert Waddell of Omaha, Robert told me about his new Dirtbike School here our area.  It’s clear that the new Dirtbike school will be a welcome addition, and NOHVA would like to help get the word out about it.  Here is a letter explaining a bit more about the school.

Dear NOVHA members;
          I just wanted to take the opportunity to introduce the person behind Nebraska’s new Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Dirtbike School called Knobby Adventures DBS. This will be the first MSF DirtBike school in the Nebraska region. I intend to serve Central & Eastern Nebraska along with parts of Western Iowa, Southern South Dakota, Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas.
          I grew up in rural Southwest Nebraska along the Republican River. I grew up riding in the dirt as they say. I had dirt-bikes, three and four-wheel ATVs throughout my youth until my adult years. In my adult years I strayed into street bikes and eventually into road racing and track days. Most recently I have been involved in the motorcycle track riding club, Moto Mania, at Mid-America Motorplex south of Omaha, NE. I was involved with the track and club from the beginning assisting track management in many way including as director of the Paddock Marshals for the club.
          After my several year hiatus from the dirt world I have returned, with my young family, introducing them to the off-road recreation of dirt-bikes. Along the way I have introduced family friends to the pleasures of the dirt. That’s when the plan presented itself of becoming more involved in spreading the word. I hope through my school to further the interest in off-road recreation and bring many more new members to our community.
          By the time you’re reading this I will have attended the Coach/Coordinator school at the Honda training facility in Colton, California. After completion of the course I will be initiating my first classes in the spring.
          I look forward to supporting NOVHA through my school and providing NOVHA materials to all the school participants. Obviously, members of this organization will often already be riders, but possibly there will be a few ATV riders looking to learn about dirt-bikes. Also, it will just be
a portion of the overall marketing strategy in educating the public to the MSF DirtBike school program and its availability through Knobby Adventures DBS.
          Thank you for all the work NOVHA has done for Nebraska and off-road riding. I look forward to becoming part of this organization and help promote safe, responsible riding not only through NOVHA, but my Knobby Adventures DBS as well.

Sincerely,
Robert Waddell
