The meeting was called to order by President, Bill Vodicka on March 23rd, 2007. There were 19 members present. No guests or new members. Roll call was signed. The minutes were read and approved. The treasurer’s report showed a balance of $1,819.11. No officer’s reports were given at this time. No committee reports were given either.

Election ballots were turned over to Carol and Jerry Anderson for the tally. The votes were as follows: Bill Vodicka, President 52 votes. Vice President, Luke Wassom had 18 votes, Cody Peterson had 14 votes, Stan Thompson had 9 votes, Jeff Drohman had 6 votes and Kevin Dunn had 5 votes. For Secretary/Treasurer it was Ann Vodicka with 36 votes and Bonnie Thompson with 16 votes. Officers for 2007 will be President, Bill Vodicka, Vice President Luke Wassom and Secretary Treasurer, Ann Vodicka.

New Business included fund raising ideas.

We discussed parades and it was decided that we will need to write some rules for parade participation. There were some stunts performed last year and we got some negative feedback on this. Therefore if we participate we will have rules to follow first. Some suggestions for fund raisers were hamburger feeds, spaghetti feeds, bake sales, another raffle and other items. Guy Gaston volunteered to make spicy polish dogs and sell those during one of our events. We talked about having garage sales on the days of Hebron and Deshler Community garage sales. These are the first 2 weekends in June. We will ask members to start saving things that they want to get rid of and the proceeds will be donated to the Club.

We will begin to have monthly meetings starting in April. It will be the second Monday of the month. These will be held at Grampa’s Crossing at 7:00 p.m. Members, please mark your calendars so you can make an attempt to attend these meetings. Grampa’s is usually closed on Mondays, so there will be no food available, but Lonnie has agreed to let us meet there while he is working. These will start on April 9. We need to start to work on rules for the park so we will be ready to do some things once the land is secured. We will work on getting items or gift certificates donated from dealers so that we can possibly have another raffle or other money maker. We are going to try and get some small ATV’s to use for Deshler Daze and have another little track for the kids and possibly some safety demonstrations. We could have drinks or popcorn or something like that for this event.

Arlis Hohl is going to check into starting a Foundation, so that if anyone wishes to donate to the park it can be written off on their taxes. We need this so it can be a benefit for both the Club and the donating person/company. Also we need to check into the deadline dates for different Grants that we can apply for. Arlis also mentioned some monies available for programs for kid’s from Norris Public Power and Kinder Morgan. These could come in handy when building the BMX part of the park.

Discussion was held on the people that Dan mentioned that will come in and help with the trails and help us make it sustainable etc. We will need to find out the cost of these things prior to agreeing to use such a source, since affordability comes into consideration. We cannot agree to use someone for this if the money isn’t there. We have a lot of work to do even before we acquire land, so we hope to get some good input during our monthly meetings this Summer and get things organized so we will be ready to build it once the land is purchased.

Remember to mark your calendars and try to attend the meetings if possible so that we can get things accomplished prior to the deadlines. We appreciate any and all ideas that we can get and any help will be appreciated.

The meeting was then adjourned by President, Bill Vodicka.

Little Blue OHV Chapter Meeting Minutes: April 9, 2007

The meeting was called to order by President, Bill Vodicka. There were 11 members present. No guests or new members. Roll call was signed. The minutes were read and approved. The treasurer’s report showed a balance of $1,879.11. Vice President, Luke Wassom told us that he is moving to western Nebraska so he will be resigning his position. Discussion was held regarding this and a motion by Ann Vodicka was made to let the person with the next highest number of votes take over. This was seconded by Kris Siebenneicher. Therefore, Cody Peterson will be stepping in for Luke. Everyone agreed that this was the best way to handle the situation. President Bill Vodicka announced that he was having a knee scope done soon.

Arlis Hohl reported that she is still working on the Foundation. She met with Chris Frey and he told her that the land would need to be re-zoned once it is approved and purchased for the Park. There was a question as to whether the Grant had to be used within the year and we found that this could be extended if needed. Arlis was also given a copy of an article on ATV deaths, anonymously.

New Business included fund raising ideas. It has been decided that we will have a group garage sale in Deshler on June 2nd, and in Hebron on June 9th during the Community Wide Garage Sales. Everyone is to put a price on their own things that they donate. The proceeds will be donated to Little Blue OHV. If you have anything that you wish to donate, please let us know. We will also be doing another ATV ride during the Deshler Daze celebration. We may also include a bake sale or something like that as well. We will need to let Dan know about Deshler Daze one month in advance for insurance purposes. Bonnie & Connie contacted Linton Small Engine and they were not interested in assisting us with small ATV’s but Superior Outdoor Power said that they would if they have them available. We are to let them know a week in advance. We may contact some local people for donations to use during the Deshler Daze event, such as gasoline for the ATV’s etc. We will be contacting some of the area dealers by mail and see if they will possibly be interested in helping with donations for items to be given away or raffled off during the Summer.

Next meeting will be held on May 14th at 7:30. This will be held at Grampa’s Crossing. We will be discussing the garage sales, making signs and also possibly planning a club trip to Genoa this Summer. We will also get a set of rules made for parades.

The meeting was then adjourned by President, Bill Vodicka.
