NOHVA Annual Meeting, Headworks Chapter Meetings Planned 

A Headworks Chapter meeting and the NOHVA annual meeting will be held in Grand Island on Sunday, January 18, 2009. (See map below)  Both meetings will be held at the Conestoga Mall meeting room located at US Highway 281 and 13th street in Grand Island.  The Headworks chapter meeting will begin at 10:30 AM.  At 1 PM, the NOHVA Annual meeting will be begin.  The entrance to the meeting room is located on the south-middle part of the mall next to the mall office.  Signs will be posted outside of the entrance to the meeting room.  It is requested that chapter officers and all directors of the board be present for the annual meeting that will start at 1:00 PM.  Items for the agenda of either meeting can be added before the meeting by request, contact Dan Nitzel.

During the Headworks chapter meeting, we will nominate and elect 2009 chapter officers.  Also during this meeting we will be discussing ideas about what we should be spending money for at Headworks.    Preliminary plans for the spring Jamboree will be discussed.  If you have some suggestions bring them to the meeting and we will discuss them. 

 

At 1 PM the Annual Meeting will begin.  Topics of the annual meeting include reviewing the NOHVA 2008 treasury income/expense report and the 2009 proposed budget. 

 

Five of the Directors at large need to be elected this year for three year terms.  Terms end in January 2009 for Colby Kostman, Ron Kubalek, Marion McGee, Ray Oseka and Tim Williams. 

 

Officers of the Board of Directors need to be decided.  Open discussion will be held.  Impending new legislation will need to be discussed along with deciding any positions NOHVA should take on ATV and dirtbike related issues.  NOHVA events for 2009 will be discussed.

 

Operation of the chapters will be reviewed and there will be a vote to re-approve or disapprove the chapters for 2009. 

 

For the annual meeting, all chapters must have their membership numbers up to the expected levels to be re-approved.  All meeting notes and financial record summaries must be submitted in order to remain active.   A new form will need to be complete by the chapters for use by the IRS to complete or non-profit tax statement.  The chapters will need to make sure their officers for 2009 are elected.   

 

The 2008 NOHVA financial report and the proposed 2009 budget will be discussed at the Annual Meeting.    Following the Annual Membership meeting a short Board of Directors meeting will be held.  The Annual Meeting should end by 4 PM and the Board of Directors meeting will end at 5 PM.

Those who wish to run in the election as a chapter officer in the Headworks chapter should attend the Headworks chapter meeting at 10:30 AM in order to be nominated for an office.  People can nominate themselves if they desire.  Names of current Headworks chapter officers are listed on the www.nohva.com web site and in this newspaper.  The vote for chapter officers will occur at the same meeting that officers are nominated at.  Duties of the chapter officers are limited to the projects that each chapter is involved with or as described by our Association by-laws.  If you want more information on the duties of chapter officers, contact Dan Nitzel.

 

Those who wish to run in the election as a NOHVA Director at large should attend the Annual Meeting beginning at 1 PM so they can be nominated.  People can nominate themselves if they desire.  If they can’t attend the Annual Meeting, they need to inform Dan Nitzel or Dennis Walz that they want to included in the list of names for Directors at large.  The names of our current directors are listed on the www.nohva.com web site.  The vote for Directors will occur at the same meeting that Directors are nominated.  Duties of the Directors are limited to the projects that each chapter is involved with or as described by our Association by-laws.  If you want more information on the duties of chapter officers, contact Dan Nitzel.

 

Inspect the NOHVA 2008 financial report and the proposed 2009 budget at or before the Annual meeting.  Copies of the 2008 financial report, income and expense summaries and 2009 budget will be available at the meetings or before the meeting.  To inspect a report before the meetings, contact Dan Nitzel at danno@nohva.com to have a copy emailed or sent via the U.S. Postal Service to you.  You can call Dan Nitzel’s home as well and request a copy at 308-381-2143 (leave a message).  Be sure to leave your name and mailing address and speak clearly when leaving a message.
